web designer and web programmer
CMS or HTML5 websites
Responsive web design at fair prices
Do you represent a medium-sized or small company and would like to offer your products and/or services or present them to a broader public or potential business partners? Are you solo self-employed and would like to expand your economic success? Are you planning a private website on which you want to make your interests and passions public? Or do you intend to focus more on your association, your NGO in which you are involved or many other things?
That's all right! We discuss your ideas, plans and goals together and I do the web development in order to create a successful website according to your wishes. Media such as videos, logo, graphics and images can either be provided by you, or I can design a modern "responsive" layout from scratch and provide images, graphics and logo from free or commercial sources, or advise in your designs for logos and graphics.
In web programming I attach great importance to accessibility. This means your pages are easily accessible even for visually impaired people. The design of the websites is realized exclusively using CSS.
At the end of the project, your websites will be tested for cross-browser compatibility so that they are displayed identically in every internet browser.
I always program in 100% W3C valid, error-free HTML5, flanked by error-free JavaScript and PHP code and CSS3 for layout and design of the elements of the websites or themes or templates of the CMS. If requested, I can carry out basic search engine optimization (OnPage SEO). This way you can be sure that your internet presence can be found on Google & Co. by potential customers, current and future business partners, friends, acquaintances and interested people.
However, it is generally recommended later that a much more intensive search engine optimization will be carried out, which, among other things, should also contain off-page SEO measures, as an extra SEO project.
“My strength as a web designer and web programmer is to provide an individual internet presence based on professional content management at a reasonable flat rate, the content of which can be maintained by the client themselves.”

CMS "service contract"
Each content management system (CMS) is continually evolving. With each new release vulnerabilities my occur that can be exploited by hackers to inject malicious code into the website.
The same can happen to foreign extensions for the used CMS. The injected malicious code usually leads to a Trojan attack to the computers of your website visitors, but the server infrastructure of the hosting company is at risk too. As a website owner you are legally responsible for the security of the software installed on the server and you can be held liable for damages.
Therefore, it is extremely important to always operate the CMS and the extensions on the basis of the latest available software version. The updates for the CMS Joomla!, for example, are currently very easy to perform; but under certain circumstances, problems and errors can still occur during the update procedure.
So I'm offering you a kind of "service contract" for 288 € per year (that corresponds to half an hour of effort per month). The "contract" includes the ongoing updating of the CMS and its components. Only when extensive changes and adjustments are made in the CMS, and changes in the programming of the layout and the templates or themes are necessary, I will make you a special offer for the upgrade. But that usually only happens every few years.
If you use a lot of complex third-party extensions in your CMS or shop system, I may have to calculate a specifically adjusted higher price for the service agreement, depending on the additional effort.
So you can be sure that all known vulnerabilities are immediately closed and your website always stays on the cutting edge of technology.
Migration or upgrade from Joomla! to the latest version
If your website is still running on Joomla! versions 4.x.x, 3.x.x, 2.5.x, 1.7.x, 1.6.x, 1.5.x, or even Joomla! 1.0.x, it is strongly recommended that you migrate to the current version, Joomla! 5.x.x. Versions older than 4.4.x are no longer supported with security updates, which leaves your site vulnerable to hacking and the potential loss of content. As of October 17, 2023, version 4.3.4 has not been receiving security updates. Therefore, it is crucial to upgrade to at least Joomla! 4.4.x. However, it is even more prudent to migrate directly to Joomla! 5.x.x, as Joomla! 4.4.x will only be supported with bug fixes and security updates until October 14, 2025.
The migration process involves several steps. First, the new Joomla! files are installed in a subfolder of your webspace. Next, the database is transferred to the new structure, and typically, the template (the files responsible for the design and layout of your site) will need to be reprogrammed.
For those migrating from the very old Joomla! 1.0.x, an intermediate step is required: you must first migrate to Joomla! 1.5.26 before you can proceed to Joomla! 3.10.12, and then upgrade to Joomla! 4.4.x and finally to 5.x.x.
I have extensive experience with numerous migrations and upgrades, including those for other content management and e-commerce systems, allowing me to bring your sites up to date at a fair price. The effort required for migration can vary significantly depending on the Joomla! extensions that are installed.
I can offer you five basic prices:
- Joomla! Migration and upgrades to 5.x.x based on version 1.0.x: from 348,00 € incl.
- Joomla! Migration and upgrades to 5.x.x based on version 1.5.x: from 248,00 € incl.
- Joomla! Upgrades to version 5.x.x starting from version 2.5.x: from 198,00 € incl.
- Joomla! Upgrades to version 5.x.x starting from version 3.x.x: from 148,00 € incl.
- Joomla! Upgrade to version 5.x.x from version 4.x.x: from 98,00 € incl.
Depending on which third-party extensions are installed and may need to be migrated, the price increases accordingly.
Please do not delay the due migration or upgrade of your installation for too long and please use my service, because if your pages are compromised, the damage is usually very large.

Importance of security updates
Especially Joomla! Updates 3.4.6 and 3.4.7 released in December 2015, which closed serious vulnerabilities in Joomla! show how important updating your Joomla! Website at time with the release of updates is. As it became known, these vulnarabilities were exploited to infect Joomla! Websites with a variant of the dangerous ransomware TeslaCrypt. see also: http://heise.de/-3052441 and http://heise.de/-3114184
The updates in Joomla! are unfortunately not yet, as with current WordPress versions already introduced, fully automated. You must login yourself in the backend to start the updates manually, the same for the updates of foreign extensions.
If you don't want to spend time and effort to find informations about the releases of security updates for your Joomla! installation, I recommend you to take my maintenance contract service in account. I care not only about the timely completion of the Joomla! Updates but i.a. for updating all foreign extensions, which are also potential entry points for malicious code, as has been shown in the past.
Take me into account!
Web design with Content Management Systems from Oldenburg
If you would like a website with Web 2.0 features, so your customers or users come into interactive contact, a website based on a content management system (CMS) is exactly the right thing for you.
Especially if you want to have a lot of sub pages with much content, the editorial system provided by a CMS gives you the easiest possibility to manage your content.
I'll install the latest version of the CMS of your choice and will program a template, corresponding to your needs, and will configure the basic settings for your first articles.
Then you can add or change content at any time and without knowledge of HTML with an online text editor, usable like a word processing program.
My website for example is based on the CMS Joomla!.
The most popular free content management systems are Drupal, Joomla!, Typo3 and WordPress.
But I put myself flexibly to your wishes and I'm happy to advise you in choosing the most suitable content management system.
If you merely need a simple presentation of your company, your products or services, with a few pages, or the content does not seek long-term changes, I'll program your pages in a traditional way in the HTML5 standard.
In any case, I set myself entirely to your liking. Unless specifically requested otherwise, I work in web development in the "Responsive Web Design" standard, ie Internet design and layout automatically adapts to the respective screen resolution of the user. Users that for example call your website with a smartphone or a tablet, see an on the device adapted display and the page can therefore be operated highly efficient.
